I did a Google search based on how to reset a MacBook with OS X leopard to factory settings. Right now the machine is working but I would like to have it go back to being clean and pristine. I tried looking at the system preferences and the utilities and although I do find something that will let me erase it I don’t want to just do that blindly in case I don’t have the OS X software for reinstallation. I tried looking at the disk to see if there was a recovery partition and because my Mac skills are extremely limited I could not see how to find if there is a second partition on this but it doesn’t seem like there is. I am having problems doing this here is what I’ve tried so far. The person that gave the MacBook to my brother was getting rid of it for whatever reason and they left original documents on it and I would like to go ahead and kick the tires on this thing by starting out with forming a factory reset on this. I have been sort of lucky enough to have a brother that was given an old (and I do mean old the original box has a date on it of 2009) 13 inch MacBook which has OS X leopard installed. I am trying desperately to update my skills both in the windows universe and to finally add the Apple universe to my list of skills. I am a helpdesk tech for over 25 years and that is out of work for over a year.
